e. There shall be a Spot menu to permit pan and tilt attributes to be
assigned in a manner consistent with the trackball movement,
regardless of the physical orientation of the device.
f. There shall be multi-layer patching for logical channel distribution.
10. Menus
a. Dynamic menus shall provide additional operations via Soft Keys (F
keys). Menu functions shall include Spot Patch, Channel Patch,
Scroller Patch, Mix Output, Load, Record, Macro, Event, MIDI,
Printer, System Parameters, Auto Assign, Leader, Network Settings,
Memory Operations, and Print. Interactive on screen prompts shall
guide the operator through all of the menu functions.
11. Macros
a. Up to 999 macros of up to 40 keypresses each may be recorded.
b. Macros may be operated by number, on the Soft Keys in Macro mode,
from an Event, or through DMX input from an external source.
12. DMX input
a. There shall be a DMX input port for conventional channels or moving
lights. DMX input may be integrated with the main console output to
program memories. Macros with selectable operation threshold may
be operated from DMX input data. DMX input channels may also be
used as playback device submasters.
13. MIDI
a. The console shall read note commands from any MIDI source and
shall generate MIDI commands.
b. Editable tables of all control panel components (keys, faders, and
controllers) shall be provided in the MIDI menu.
c. The MIDI sync function may operate playback tracking between two
consoles.
14. SMPTE
a. The system shall receive SMPTE transmission to operate Events.
b. SMPTE time codes may be assigned to Events using ‘teach me’
function or by manually editing the time code information.
15. Archive Storage of Data
a. Show archives of 1MB (2MB optional) compressed data may be
recorded to an internal hard drive, floppy, or file server (via Ethernet).
b. Show files may have text labels.
c. Show files shall display date and time stamps.
d. There shall be an Autosave function that automatically saves all the
current system data at pre-determined intervals. The number of
Autosave generations may be operator defined in the System
